Job Title: Associate Accident Reconstructionist/ Field Expert

About Us: Weed Reconstruction and Expert Consulting is a respected leader in forensic consulting, specializing in vehicle crash analysis, scene reconstruction, and expert litigation support. Our team is composed of seasoned Reconstructionists, investigators, and technical specialists who work closely with legal teams to uncover the truth behind accidents. We're looking to add a driven and analytical Associate Accident Reconstructionist/ Field Expert to support our expanding caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist lead Reconstructionist in analyzing motor vehicle collisions, including complex multi-vehicle crashes, commercial motor vehicle collisions, motorcycle, and pedestrian or cyclist-related incidents
· Conduct field inspections of vehicles and crash scenes, including data collection, measurements, and photography
· Retrieve EDR ("black box") data and other digital evidence (e.g., BWC footage, surveillance video)
· Stay current with advancements in crash analysis tools, software (Recon 3D, Drone, FARO, etc.), and methodologies
· Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
· 0–3 years of relevant experience (Prior law enforcement experience, military experience, insurance investigation preferred but not required)
· Working knowledge of vehicle mechanics, physics, or traffic accident investigation a plus
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CAD or simulation software is a bonus
· Ability to travel for fieldwork and inspections, occasionally on short notice and/or overnight
· You must be able to manage several investigations simultaneously and be detail orientated.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Preferred, but Not Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Forensic Science, or related field preferred
· ACTAR accreditation or intent to pursue
· Completion of IPTM or Northwestern crash reconstruction coursework
· Experience working with law enforcement or legal professionals
Physical Demands and Travel Requirements:
While performing this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Must be able to perform field inspections, physically move debris, inspect vehicles (commercial and tractor-trailer), and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Travel- This position requires travel. Out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required.
